Ohio Medical Professionals Now Legally Required to Report Suspected Elder Abuse

Effective September 29th, section 5101.63 of the Revised Code significantly expanded the list of individuals mandated to report suspected elder abuse in Ohio. Included on the list of mandatory reporters are medical professionals.
To support medical professionals in their new responsibilities, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) developed training materials on identifying and reporting elder abuse.
