Supervising physician prohibitions.
(A)
No physician shall act as the supervising physician of a physician
assistant without having received the board's approval of a physician assistant
utilization plan and approval of a supervision agreement entered into with the
physician assistant.
(B)
No supervising physician shall authorize a physician assistant to perform
services as a physician assistant in a manner that is inconsistent with the
standard or supplemental physician assistant utilization plan under which that
physician assistant practices.
(C)
A physician may enter into supervision agreements with any number of
physician assistants, but a supervising physician shall not supervise more than
two physician assistants at one time.
(D)
A supervising physician shall not authorize a physician assistant to
perform a service if the physician is not satisfied that the physician assistant
is capable of competently performing the service.
(E)
A supervising physician shall not authorize a physician assistant to
perform any service that is beyond the physician’s or the assistant’s
expertise or normal course of practice.
