How to Check the Status of your Training Certificate

After you mail your completed Training Certificate renewal application and fee, you can check your renewal status on the Medical Board’s website at http://med.ohio.gov/.  Click on "Licensee Profile and Status" under "INFORMATION FOR CONSUMERS". Updates are posted each Monday morning.

Renewal processing usually takes 4-6 weeks, resulting in the physician receiving his/her acknowledgment letter. There are several statuses listed within your profile to help you know how your renewal is progressing. These are listed below.

RENEWAL APP MAILED This indicates the renewal application was mailed to you on April 1, 2001. If you have not received the renewal application within a month of this date, please notify the Records Department at (614)728-3113, and ask that a duplicate renewal application be mailed to you.

RENEWAL FEE RECEIVED This indicates that the Treasurer, State of Ohio has received the check or money order that you mailed, and your renewal is being processed. Due to check processing time, it may take 4 to 6 weeks from the time your renewal materials are received by the treasurer for the website to reflect that your check and application have been received. After that time, if your status has not been updated to indicate your renewal has been received, you may wish to contact the Records Department at (614)728-3113. The Medical Board will notify you in writing if anything on the renewal application itself is incomplete.

APPROVAL LETTER MAILED This indicates that your renewal application and check were processed successfully, and an acknowledgment letter was mailed to your training program as indicated on the renewal application. If your program does not receive this letter within two weeks of checking this status, please notify the Records Department at (614)728-3113.

RENEWAL INCOMPLETE This indicates that the physician needs to complete some portion of the renewal application before the renewal can be processed. You will or should receive a notice from the Medical Board indicating specifically what needs to be completed. If you do not receive a notice within two weeks of checking this status, please notify the Records Department at (614)728-3113.
