INFORMATION ON PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT CERTIFICATE TO PRACTICE NUMBERS

Physician Assistants in Ohio often have more than one registration number on the Medical Board website. Please follow the following guidelines, and if you still have questions, please call the Physician Assistant Program Administrator at (614) 466-7297.

    TEMPORARY REGISTRATION

    Temporary certificate to practice numbers were issued to Physician Assistants who were scheduled to take the next NCCPA examination. These temporary certificate to practice numbers will be designated by the prefix number "51".  As of May 17, 2006, the Board will no longer issue temporary certificate to practice numbers.

    FULL REGISTRATION

    Prior to March of 1996, Physician Assistants were issued a new certificate to practice number for each new employing physician. Therefore, you may see more than one number for the same Physician Assistant. Check the highest number for the most current information.
