The legislature has assigned the Medical Board the legal authority to enforce specified sections of the Ohio Revised Code (the Medical Practices Act).
The State Medical Board of Ohio licenses physician assistants, who are governed by Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4730.
The State Medical Board of Ohio licenses medical doctors, doctors of osteopathic medicine, doctors of podiatric medicine, massage therapists and cosmetic therapists, who are governed by Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4731.
The State Medical Board of Ohio registers anesthesiologist assistants, who are governed by Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4760.
The State Medical Board of Ohio registers acupuncturists, who are governed by Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4762.
