Information on physician assistant registration numbers

Physician assistants in Ohio often have more than one registration number on the Medical Board website. Please follow the guidelines below, and if you still have questions, please call the Physician assistant program administrator at (614) 466-7297.

Temporary registration

Temporary registration numbers are issued to Physician assistants who are scheduled to take the next NCCPA examination. These registration numbers will include the number "99" after the prefix, but before the registration number (ex., 50-990001). The number "50" is a prefix assigned to all Physician Assistant registrations.

Full registration

Prior to March of 1996, Physician assistants were issued a new registration number for each new employing physician. Therefore, you may see more than one registration number for the same Physician Assistant. Check the highest number for the most current information.
