In order to practice massage therapy in Ohio, the individual must be licensed by the Board. Massage therapy is defined as “the treatment of disorders of the human body by the manipulation of soft tissue by the systematic external application of massage techniques..” Ohio gives its own Massage Licensure examination twice a year, and does not currently recognize the exam given by National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. (NCBTMB).
