An Anesthesiologist assistant is an individual who assists an anesthesiologist in developing and implementing anesthesia care plans for patients. Applicants must have completed a training program conducted for the purpose of preparing individuals to practice as anesthesiologist assistants. The program must have been completed at Case Western Reserve University or Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
An Anesthesiologist Assistant shall practice only under the direct supervision and in the immediate presence of a physician who is actively and directly engaged in the clinical practice of medicine as an anesthesiologist. This registration was established in May of 2000 under Chapter 4760 of the Ohio revised code.
