Online Renewal

Radiologist Assistants (RA) are required to renew their license biennially in order to maintain an active certificate to practice.  The expiration date for all licenses is January 31st of even years.  The fee for renewal is $200.00.

Before Completing Application

Applicants will be required to complete the application in its entirety and pay a non-refundable fee. Applicants will be required to upload any required documents as a result of an affirmative answer provided in the Questions portion of the application, license specific certifications, and to have a valid credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover).

Required Documents for Application Submission

The application contains a Questions portion that consists of standard enforcement questions as well as license specific certifications. If you answer Yes to one of the questions in this portion of the application, you will be required to provide an explanation that includes the date, place, reason and disposition of the matter in the comments box.  Additionally, an attachment may be required in the Attachment portion of the application for certain questions that appear in this area, an example of attachments that may be required are listed below.

  • National Practitioners Data Bank Report (NPDB)
  • Documentation Related to action taken by another state or entity
  • Documentation Related to arrests/criminal actions
  • Documentation of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification Status
  • Documentation of a valid Radiographer license issued by the Ohio Department of Health.

Following submission and payment for your application you will receive an email confirming renewal application submission and payment.

Continuing Education

In order to be eligible for renewal of the license, a Radiologist Assistant must certify to the Board that he or she has the following

  • A license as a radiographer under Chapter 4773. of the Revised Code;  and

  • Certification as a registered radiologist assistant from the American registry of radiologic technologists (ARRT) by meeting the registry's requirements for annual registration, including completion of the continuing education requirements established by the registry.

 The Board may require a random sample of Radiologist Assistants to submit materials documenting certification by the ARRT and completion of the NCCAA required hours of CE.  It is imperative that you maintain accurate records of CE activities for purposes of possible audit.
